Music themes

In every trailer I have come across there has been different music in different sections of the trailer in order to show seriousness, show suspense or any others. In psychological thrillers the music used builds the audience up and builds suspense and I have a piece of music in which I want to mimic or copy in order to complete my trailer. I would use this piece of music in the middle-end of the trailer as this will keep the audience interested because it is a catchy piece of music and builds tension and the suspense that I want in the trailer.
This would be a brilliant piece of music for my psychological thriller because the theme of my trailer is ‘mind-games’ and I believe this music helps show that in a way because you don’t really know what is going to happen next, in an unusual way. Also the pace of the music almost seems like it is a race agains something as well.

Another interesting piece of music is the Youtube video below. I am considering this piece of music but only the first 30 seconds of it. Within my trailer this music could work very well but only if it is used in the right place. It could either go at the beginning of the trailer or at the near end when all the drama is happening. It is like ‘plotting’ music and something again is going to happen and this is what I need in the trailer. This piece of music is up for consideration.

This music was used in the trailer for the film ‘Gone’, it is know as 'Riptide-they came from the blue'. Within the trailer it adds a great effect and keep the audience interested throughout the trailer. Here is the theme tune and the trailer, this shows how different the trailer is with the music.

Another brilliant example is the trailer for the film ‘Inception’. Once the music for the trailer began I was hooked from beginning to end with the trailer. It is very well constructed and here is the trailer and theme music which I have also considered using to create impact in my own trailer.

Make-up and special effects

Make-Up

Makeup in movies

Makeup in movies varies in certain situations. For example in a scene where the characters are in a nightclub, usually the makeup (for women) is dark smokey eyes and more heavy makeup than usual, this is shown in the image to the right. Whereas in general, makeup for women in more regular scenes is quite neutral and natural like the image shown on the left.

Make-up Youtube tutorial

I have chosen this particular tutorial because it shows how to apply simplistic makeup in an easy to use way. I will be using this tutorial to style my star vehicle and make my trailer look professional by the look of the characters.Makeup is a very important aspect of a film or a trailer even though most audience dont even take notice or appreciate it at the time. However if the star vehicles are not visually attractive the audience are less attracted to the characters. By using makeup this allows the characters to become visually attractive and appeal to the target audience
